Anne Crane, photographer and artist, was born in the remote Eskimo town of Bethel,Alaska, and raised in the small community of Chugiak, Alaska. Her interest in photography started at a young age as she observed her father’szeal for photography.
Anappreciation and respect for nature and the environment is inherent in Anne asshe was fortunate to spend over 25 years of her life growing up in Alaska. The land, mountains, trees, and waters of Alaska are simply described as “The Great Land,” and to be honest, unequaledanywhere.
Annehad a hard time leaving the mountains and the snow of Alaska,so she chose a similar locale and spent many years in Littleton, Colorado. In Coloradoshe absorbed the Rocky Mountains, soaked inthe sun, and enjoyed the plains and big sky.
Yearningto be closer to relatives, water, and the trees again, Anne moved with herfamily back to the Northwest where she now resides in Oregon. A renewed sense of being "home" has awakened her passionto explore. Anne now observes her new palette, from the Cascades to theNorthwest coastline, unfolding in front of her.
Annehas always had a fascination and rapport with the landscape. Herindividual perspective of our earth and the activities that abound around herwill hopefully inspire you to capture the spirit of the land in yourpersonal world.
ThroughAnne’s eyes and her camera lenses, you will experience the awe of nature and thegreat mystery of the land that we experience as human beings. Shecontinues to look for unusual subjects to communicate her perspective in a one-of-a-kind way and will have updated photos on this website regularly.
